When are you next open?
We are open throughout the year, please see our events section
How much does it cost?
We are a charity and ask for a donation, please see our ticket and fares section
Is it suitable for children?
Yes! We welcome children of all ages, we require all children to be supervised by a parent.
Can adults go on the ride too?
Absolutely, we offer a family ticket for all the family!
Birthday parties can be arranged any day that the railway is not open to the public, providing we can get enough of our volunteers to cover. The donation is £150 for up to 15 children and an further £5 per additional child.
This covers for the use of our station building for you to hold your party in and for us to provide a train to run for the period of the party. Usually the family arrive around 1:00-1:30 to set up for the party, providing their own food etc. Guests usually arrive at 2.00 and stay until 4:00-4:30. The hosts then clear up and are off site around 5:00.
We would expect enough adults to be with the party to supervise all children.
Our portable track
A donation for the hire of portable track, train and staff, for use at home is from £350. However prior to booking a member of our Society needs to inspect the site and judge suitability and access. We only take portable track events within a 15 mile radius from our railway because of logistics issues.
We do not operate a booking system, however generally early on in the day it is less busy. If you arrive for 12:00 you have the opportunity to see Santa arrive by Train.
The cost will be £8.50 per child and includes a ride on the train approx 12-15 minutes, a visit to Santa's Grotto with a family visit to Santa for a chat and present. You are welcome to take your own photos.
Adults are charged £2.50 for the train ride. We also hope to have tea/coffee and possibly a burger van on site. We will confirm that on Facebook nearer the time.
We are open from 12 noon till 4pm on Sundays 3rd-10th and 17th December 2017.
From experience the first Sunday is generally quietest and the Sunday closest to Christmas the busiest, weather being equal.
